St. George Police investigating after gunfire on Bluff Street

The St. George Police Department is investigating gunfire on Bluff Street. SGPD reports that an officer witnessed two vehicles traveling on Bluff Street and heard popping sounds around 1:30 on June 26, 2024.

One vehicle swerved off the shoulder of the road. The officer stopped and spoke to the driver of the vehicle. The driver informed the officer that an occupant of the other vehicle fired a gun at him.

No one was injured in this incident. The other vehicle entered onto I-15 southbound and attempted to avoid the officer’s attempt to stop them. The pursuit continued into Arizona and Nevada. Spike strips were eventually used to stop the vehicle.

Three suspects were taken into custody. Officers collected evidence of a shooting. Two adult males were arrested and are awaiting extradition to Utah. A 17-year-old male juvenile was released to his parents after he was referred to juvenile court. No other details are available.
