The Austin Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 2600 block of Metcalfe Road after a woman was found dead in an abandoned house. APD reports that officers responded to a call at the aforementioned location for a report of a deceased person around 4:06 p.m. on June 21, 2024.

The caller informed authorities that they had seen a deceased person at the location. At the scene, officers found a deceased Hispanic female inside the abandoned home. The victim was later identified as Alyssa Rivera.

APD detectives believe Rivera was murdered at the location by an unknown individual. No one is in custody at this time. APD confirms this is the city’s 27th homicide of 2024.
