Vancouver Police have arrested a man who allegedly threatened to kill people at a park. VPD reports that a man called 911 around 12:30 p.m. on June 19 saying he had a knife and was going to a park near Thurlow and Comox Streets to kill someone who had assaulted him.
VPD officers responded and began searching for the man in question. Officers found the suspect sitting on a bench on Davie Street at Thurlow approximately three blocks from the park.
Officers believed the man was armed with a knife and planning to commit a murder. Officers attempted to take the man into custody. The man allegedly refused to comply with officers’ commands. Officers used a Taser and beanbag rounds to safely take the man into custody.
Bradley McElroy is charged with Uttering Threats. He has been released by the courts and is scheduled to be in court on July 3.
