The Pueblo Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting on Monday. PPD reports that its officers responded to the 900 block of East 7th Street for a report of shots fired around 12:38 p.m. on June 17, 2024.

It was determined that this was a traveling disturbance involving multiple vehicles. In the 500 block of Erie Avenue, PPD officers found an adult female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Crimes Against Persons Detectives and Crime Scene Investigations Units responded to investigate the fatal shooting.

Around 2:28 p.m., police found the suspect driving a stolen vehicle in south Pueblo. Following a short vehicle and foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody. PPD has yet to identify the suspect and victim.
