Carver County Sheriff’s Office investigating after family dog shot in Young America Township

The Carver County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after someone shot a family dog in Young America Township, Minnesota. Sheriff Jason Kamerud reports that CCSO received a 911 call about a family dog that had been shot at an unknown location around 5:50 p.m. on June 15, 2024.

Deputies learned that the caller’s family member had been walking the dog to the end of their driveway and lost sight of the dog. About 15 minutes later, the dog returned home with apparent gunshot wounds.

The dog was transported to a vet where it was determined that the wounds were too severe. The vet put the dog to sleep. CCSO is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call CCSO at 952-361-1212.
