Eloy Police arrest 22-year-old following active shooter incident at TA Truck Stop

The Eloy Police Department has arrested a 22-year-old Eloy man following an active shooter situation at the TA Truck Stop on North Toltec Road. EPD reports that officers responded to a report of an active shooter at the truck stop at 2949 North Toltec Road around 10:12 a.m. on Saturday.

At the scene, officers found 20-year-old Damarion Thornton suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Officers apprehended 22-year-old Cary Davis Jr. at the scene.

David was booked into the Pinal County Jail on charges of Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Disorderly Conduct with a Weapon. EPD’s Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating the shooting.
