The Jonesboro Police Department responded to two shootings on Tuesday evening. JPD says it received a “shots fired” call around 6:13 p.m. in reference to a shooting in the Walmart parking lot on Highland Drive.
At the scene, officers found a victim in the parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. JPD says the victim appeared to have a wound to his left leg. Officers applied a tourniquet before the victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
JPD received a second “shots fired” call around 7:04 p.m. in the 2500 block of East Johnson. JPD officers responded to the scene but did not find a victim. A short time later, a victim arrived at an area hospital.
Officers responded to the hospital and initiated an investigation into the incident.
