A 24-year-old woman has been arrested by the Roanoke Rapids Police Department. RRPD reports that an officer was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in a PVA in the area of East 10th Street and Raleigh Street around 2:08 a.m. on January 8, 2024.
At the scene, the officer noticed that the driver of one of the vehicles exhibited signs of impairment. The driver, 24-year-old Christian Taylor Jones, consented to Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.
Jones also consented to a breath sample. RRPD reports that Jones failed the SFST testing and submitted a positive ASTD sample. Jones was arrested and transported to the police department where she provided a breath sample.
RRPD says her sample was .11 BrAC which is over the legal limit. Jones was arrested for Driving While Impaired and released to a responsible party.
