The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office reports that Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to 53rd Street and Cedar Street to check on a male subject who was bleeding and disoriented.
At the scene, deputies contacted the man and provided medical aid. RCSO says the man produced a knife and began stabbing himself. Then, the man allegedly charged the deputy with a knife before being shot.
Following the deputy-involved shooting, the suspect was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. RCSO confirms the investigation is ongoing and no other details will be released at this time.
No other injuries were reported.
