Peoria Police arrest suspects after victim found tied up outside a residence

A victim was found tied up outside a residence with straps on his legs and arms. Now, two men are behind bars in connection to the kidnapping. The Peoria Police Department reports that its officers responded to the 1800 block of West Martin for a man found tied up outside around 8:36 a.m. on June 1, 2024.

At the scene, officers found a man with straps on his legs and arms. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers learned that the possible suspects were still inside the residence.

PPD reports that three men were detained although one man was released without being charged. Following interviews, 29-year-old Alvaro DeJesus Lopez was arrested for kidnapping and battery.

36-year-old Juan C. Pixtun Cheguen was arrested for kidnapping and battery. Both men were booked into the Peoria County Jail.
