Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigating homicide at the Lafayette Village Apartment Complex

Update – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has charged a suspect in the death of Latoya Fisher whose body was found in an apartment at 4822 East Sam Houston Parkway North. In a social media post, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported that investigators had filed murder charges against the victim’s 16-year-old son.

He was apprehended by the Violent Crimes Apprehension Team on June 4, 2024 and booked into the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center. The 16-year-old is believed to be the only suspect in the case.

Update – Sergeant Jason Brown provided an update on the homicide at the Lafayette Village Apartments. Brown said family members came to the apartment complex after being unable to get in touch with a 46-year-old female for several days.

The family members eventually forced their way inside the apartment and found the female deceased inside. When HCSO units reached the scene, it was determined that the woman was a victim of a homicide.

HCSO is currently processing the apartment. The woman is deceased from some type of trauma, but it’s not clear what caused the trauma at this time. Sergeant Brown said the woman lived at the apartment with her son. HCSO is trying to track down the son and speak to him.

At the scene, an adult female was found deceased inside an apartment. At this time, it is believed that the victim’s death was a homicide. Investigators are responding to the scene. No other details are available at this time.
