The Ocala Police Department has arrested a high school dean for sexual offenses against students. OPD reports that 42-year-old Gregory Ramputi was arrested for crimes against students while he was dean at Vanguard High School.
OPD says Ramputi was in a position of authority over the victims. The alleged offenses occurred over several years on and off campus. A senior reported inappropriate contact to the school resource officer earlier this month.
The allegations involved the reporting party and other students. Four other students came forward to make similar reports. It is alleged that the students were in Ramputi’s office when he asked them to expose their breasts.
He is also accused of making statements about engaging in sexual activity. Some students allege that Ramputi groped them multiple times and engaged in sexual acts with one of the victims.
It is also alleged that Ramputi asked for and viewed nude photos of a student. Gregory Ramputi has been charged with five counts of Offenses Against Students by Authority Figure, five counts of Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors, three counts of Traveling to Meet a Minor, two counts of Indecent, Lewd, or Lascivious Touching of Certain Minors, and one count of Possession of Child Pornography.
