Update – North Little Rock Police provide update on officer-involved shooting near Silverwood Trail. Around 6:19 p.m. on May 22, NLRPD received a call about a burglary in progress in the 1300 block of Silverwood Trail. Around 7 minutes later, a call for service was received in the 6900 block of Flintrock Road for a suspicious male who matched the description of the suspect from the earlier incident.
An NLRPD officer encountered 30-year-old James Bradshaw III. NLRPD says an exchange of gunfire ensued between Bradshaw and the officer. A second off-duty officer intervened and discharged their service weapon.
The on-duty officer was struck once in the ballistic vest and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Bradshaw was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was booked into the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility where he is being held without bond.
He is facing charges of Attempt to Commit Capital Murder, Battery 1st Degree, and Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons.
Original – A suspect has been shot by members of the North Little Rock Police Department. The suspect’s condition is not known at this time. The North Little Rock Police Department reports that officers responded to the 1300 block of Silverwood Trail for a burglary in progress around 6:19 p.m. on May 22, 2024.
Officers encountered the suspect in the 7000 block of Flintrock Road. At some point during the encounter, shots were fired. An NLRPD officer was struck. The officer was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was also struck. At this time, the suspect’s condition is not known. NLRPD detectives responded to the scene to investigate. NLRPD says two officers were involved in the incident. Both will be placed on Administrative Leave. No other details are available at this time.
