34-year-old man behind bars for allegedly stabbing brother in Redding

A man has been arrested by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly stabbing his brother. SCSO reports that deputies responded to reports of a stabbing at a residence in the 17000 block of Paradise Lane in Redding around 12:54 a.m. on May 13.

The caller informed dispatchers that 34-year-old Flynn Zachary Jones had stabbed his 58-year-old brother. At the scene, deputies found the victim suffering from several wounds to the upper body and abdomen.

Witnesses identified Flynn Jones as the person responsible and said they had left on foot. Deputies spotted a subject matching Jones’ description and took them into custody. SCSO reports that Jones had blood on his clothing.

Jones reportedly denied involvement in the incident and claimed the blood was on his clothes due to falling. SCSO says deputies did not notice any injuries consistent with a fall. It is not known why Jones stabbed the victim.

Flynn Zachary Jones was booked into the Shasta County Jail on a charge of Attempted Murder.
