A man has been arrested for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a young girl early Friday morning in Aurora, Colorado. The Aurora Police Department reports that the 11-year-old victim was on her way to the bus stop when she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted.
APD says the preliminary investigation indicates that an adult male approached the girl, grabbed her arm, and took her to his apartment where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. The victim managed to escape before asking a community member to call 911.
Officers arrived and arrested registered sex offender, 31-year-old Shukurani Mulenda. Mulenda is charged with 2nd Degree Kidnapping and Sex Assault on a Child.
