Fountain Valley police worked a fatal stabbing in the area of Edinger Avenue and Newhope Street after 12:30 a.m. on November 24, 2023. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and a person of interest. Responding medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Following an investigation, officers arrested David MacDonald, 23, of Huntington Beach, California. MacDonald has been charged with one count of murder.
