RPD says the preliminary investigation suggests Abdal-Rafi was involved in a verbal altercation with a male victim in front of the International Studies Building at Shaw University. This includes classrooms and the King Khalid Mosque. The suspect is accused of firing shots at the victim.
No one was injured during the incident. After a brief foot chase by a Shaw University Police officer and a Wake County ABC agent, the suspect was taken into custody.
