A man from Coos Bay is behind bars after he allegedly tried to drive his pick-up truck over a tent occupied by a man and woman. Today, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office announced that 49-year-old Jacob E. Lawson was arrested on two counts of Menacing and two counts of Reckless Endangerment. Lawson was booked into the Coos County Jail where he remains.
Around 8 a.m. on April 19, 2024, the sheriff’s office Dispatch Center received a 911 call about a man attempting to run over a fence and tent with his pick-up truck. The tent was occupied by two individuals. A deputy responded to the scene and contacted the victims who were uninjured.
The deputy located Lawson near Bastendorff Beach Road and spoke to him about his alleged involvement. Lawson was then arrested.
