A 16-year-old is still behind bars for allegedly shooting and killing his 15-year-old friend. According to the Renton Police Department, the 16-year-old made his first appearance where the judge determined there was probable cause for Manslaughter in the Second Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
The suspect was on Electronic Home Detention for a drive-by shooting in November 2023. As a result, the suspect has been remanded to the King County Youth Detention Center. Around 4 p.m. on April 13, 2024, the suspect called 911 to say he had just shot someone.
Officers responded to the scene where they found a 15-year-old victim suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was arrested and booked into youth detention.
