Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrest suspect in active missing person investigation

Today, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives announced an arrest in connection to the missing person investigation involving Andrew Tench. 31-year-old Tench was reported missing to the Gaston County Police Department on March 25, 2024.

The GCPD investigation indicated that Tench was last seen in the city limits of Charlotte, North Carolina. CMPD began investigating the case. 31-year-old D’Shaun Montrell Robinson was identified as a person of interest in the investigation, according to CMPD. On April 11, 2024, Homicide and Missing Persons Detectives carried out a search warrant at Robinson’s residence.

CMPD says Robinson voluntarily went to the Law Enforcement Center to speak with detectives. Following the interview, Robinson was arrested and transported into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with Concealment of a Death, Identity Theft, Financial Card theft (Felony 2 counts), Financial Card Fraud, Larceny of Motor Vehicle, and Financial Card Fraud (Misdemeanor 3 counts).
