The Albany Police Department in Georgia is investigating a fatal shooting that happened today. According to APD, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 200 block of Monarch Drive around 4:36 p.m. on April 9, 2024. At the scene, responding officers found a victim lying in the front yard.
The victim, who was identified as 20-year-old Emonyei Ward, was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Ward was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, investigators are following up on leads. No additional details are available.
