Victoria Police have announced a murder charge against a man in the slaying of a woman in Scarsdale on Friday. According to Victoria Police, Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man after a woman’s body was found in Scarsdale on Friday.
The 21-year-old Sebastopol man was arrested yesterday afternoon. He has now been charged with one count of murder. The unnamed 21-year-old will appear at Ballarat Magistrates’ Court tomorrow. Just before 10am on 5 April, emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle fire in bushland near State Forest Road.
The body of a 23-year-old Clunes woman was found inside the vehicle. Police believe the victim and suspect were known to each other. No other details are available at this time.
