The Metro Nashville Police Department has confirmed that the suspect in Sunday’s Roasted shooting is now in custody. On Sunday, MNPD said its detectives were working to determine the motive after a gunman opened fire during brunch at Roasted on Garfield Street. As a result of the shooting, one man was killed and several others were injured.
In a later update, MNPD identified the possible shooter as 46-year-old convicted felon Anton Rucker. Police say Rucker has aggravated assault convictions in Nashville and had been arrested in Murfreesboro on felony drug charges. On April 2, 2024, MNPD confirmed that Rucker was taken into custody in Princeton, Kentucky.
MNPD TITANS detectives located Rucker at a residence in Princeton. Authorities say he came out and surrendered without incident.
