The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reports that a shots fired call has led to an officers-involved shooting. Just before 7:30 p.m. on March 31, 2024, IMPD Northwest District officers responded to a shots fired call near West 33rd Street and Georgetown Road. IMPD says officers were informed that the suspect was firing shots into the air.

Witnesses provided authorities with a suspect and vehicle description. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop. Following a brief pursuit, the driver came to a stop outside a residence in the 3200 block of Winton Avenue. IMPD says the suspect exited the vehicle and held a firearm to his head.
