Update – The Santa Fe Police Department has arrested two men in connection to a shooting in the 900 block of Verdinal Lane. SFPD detectives arrested 34-year-old Santiago Prada who is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and shooting at a dwelling or occupied building.
32-year-old Steven Sena was also arrested as well. Sena is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and negligent use of a firearm. Prada and Sena were booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center on April 1, 2024.
Original Story – The Santa Fe Police Department is investigating an incident in the 900 block of Verdinal Lane. According to SFPD, officers responded to the aforementioned location for a report of a large fight and shots fired around 7:19 p.m. on March 31, 2024. Around 7:21 p.m., officers reached the scene.
Officers found a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The male victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. A female victim was found injured. Police believe she may have been struck by a vehicle. The female victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
One suspect believed to be involved in the shooting has been detained. SFPD says a vehicle involved in the incident crashed into a home on Verdinal Lane hitting a gas line. New Mexico Gas Company responded and quickly resolved the situation.
