The Birmingham Police Department is on the scene of a homicide on 15th Avenue West. Around 6:30 p.m. today, North Precinct officers responded to the 10 block of 15th Avenue West for a “person down” call. At the scene, officers entered a residence and found an adult male suffering from a possible gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. BPD says the preliminary investigation indicates a family member found the victim lying unresponsive inside the residence before calling 911.
BPD says no one is in custody at this time. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call detectives at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
