The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two individuals were found deceased with apparent gunshot wounds. According to MCSO, deputies responded to the 25900 block of Avenue C in Montgomery, Texas in reference to a welfare check around 9:30 p.m. on March 27, 2024. At the scene, responding deputies found a deceased male and a deceased female inside a residence with gunshot wounds.
Homicide and Violent Crimes Division detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to investigate. MCSO says the preliminary investigation suggests that family members attempted to contact the residents, but did not receive a response. This led to a welfare check and the discovery.
At this time, police do not know the circumstances or motive around the shooting. It is believed it is an isolated incident. The deceased individuals have been identified as 62-year-old Stacy Wright and 61-year-old Cathryn Wright.
