The Fairfield Police Department has arrested a 27-year-old Fairfield man following a sexual assault near Allan Witt Park. According to the Fairfield Police Department, a woman walkied into a local hospital to report she had been sexually assaulted around 11:30 a.m. on March 26, 2024. The victim said the crime happened around West Texas Street near Allan Witt Park.
Patrol officers responded to check the area. Special Victim’s Unit Detectives began their investigation. FPD says police dispatchers were able to locate the crime scene and track the male suspect’s movements using the city’s camera system. Detectives used city cameras and the Flock LPR database to identify a suspect vehicle.
Video and pictures of the suspect were distributed to all FPD officers within hours of the sexual assault. Around 10 p.m., patrol officers spotted the suspect vehicle and took a man into custody. SVU detectives interviewed the suspect and collected evidence from him. 27-year-old Alexis Feliciano-Velazquez was arrested for Sexual Assault and an outstanding warrant for burglary.
