The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 3800 block of Brookshire Boulevard in the Freedom Division. According to a CMPD media release, Freedom Division officers responded to an accident with personal injury call at the aforementioned location around 2:00 a.m. on March 22, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers located a male victim who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Further investigation revealed that the victim had injuries not consistent with the crash. CMPD says witness statements and additional evidence at the scene indicated that the victim was mortally wounded before collapsing in the street and being run over a short time later.

Homicide Unit detectives and the Major Crash Investigation Unit responded to carry out an investigation. No additional details are available at this time.
