Burlington Police Department arrests two people for breaking into vehicles

The Burlington Police Department has arrested two individuals for breaking into motor vehicles. Around 3:44 a.m. on March 21, 2024, BCPD officers were dispatched to Mitchell Court for a report of two subjects breaking into vehicles. At the scene, officers witnessed a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle eventually crashed into a fence in the 500 block of High Street.

Two individuals exited the vehicle and fled on foot. They were apprehended following a short pursuit. Burlington Police say the subjects broke into four vehicles in Burlington City. One of the vehicles was stolen from a residence on Bordentown Road. It was later abandoned on Mitchell Avenue when it became disabled.

The vehicle used to flee the area had been stolen in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 28-year-old Eric Santos and 23-year-old Valentin Paulino were arrested and charged with Burglary, Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Eluding, Obstructing, and Criminal Mischief. They were booked into the Burlington County Detention Facility.
