Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrests a fourth suspect in death investigation on Jeffersonville Road

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has arrested another suspect in a death investigation on Jefferson Road. Just before 10 a.m. on March 20, 2024, 19-year-old Frederick Lewis Hill Jr. was taken into custody. Hill was wanted in connection to the slaying of Cortavius Hassan Ates on February 10, 2024.

BCSO says Hill was arrested at a residence in the 2200 block of Gray Highway. He is facing charges of Aggravated Assault, Participation in Criminal Street Gang Activity, and Murder. Other individuals arrested in this case include 19-year-old Shamar Tyrell Stewart, 29-year-old Marion Antonio, and 30-year-old Kendarrious Rayshun Cone.

The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. on February 10, 2024 near the intersection of Jeffersonville Road and Roseview Drive. Around 4:47 p.m., E911 received a call reporting shots in the area. At the scene, deputies found 25-year-old Cortavius Hassan Ates unresponsive suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
