The Cape Girardeau Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that happened earlier tonight. Around 8:10 p.m. on March 19, 2024, CGPD officers responded to the 1700 block of Bloomfield after receiving multiple reports of shots fired.

CGPD says a victim is being treated at a local emergency room for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Two suspects attempted to flee the area but were apprehended by responding officers. The investigation is ongoing. No additional details are available at this time.
