Central Marin Police announce arrest of attempted axe murderer

The Central Marin Police Department has announced the arrest of an attempted axe murderer. According to CMPD, Dispatch received a 911 call from a citizen who reported seeing a suspicious person with a weapon in the area of Industrial Way and Rich Street in Greenbae around 10:30 a.m. on March 19, 2024. The caller said they had seen a man with an axe following another man.

As officers were responding to the scene, several more calls reported that a man had broken into a building with an axe and attacked someone. Employees of the business pinned the attacker to the ground until Central Marin Police officers reached the scene and detained the suspect.

The victim suffered severe facial injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The victim is expected to recover. 54-year-old Scott Scibilia has been charged with attempted murder, criminal threats, violation of a court order, burglary, and committing a felony while on bail/release.
