Metropolitan Police Arrest A 16-Year-old In Connection With O Street Armed Carjacking

A female victim reported her Lexus stolen during an armed carjacking in the Unit block of O Street just after 9:00 a.m. on March 19, 2024. The juvenile suspect allegedly threatened the victim with a firearm. The victim was unharmed. The police were notified by a bystander.

Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department Fourth District located the Lexus at the intersection of Taylor Street and Rock Creek Church Road an hour later. The Lexus had been involved in a hit-and-run. The male suspect was located by officers in the 200 block of Upshur Street. Officers recovered a firearm at the scene.

The juvenile who remained unidentified has been arrested on multiple charges, including armed carjacking, possession of a large-capacity ammunition feeding device, and possession of an unregistered firearm.
