The Westminster Police Department is currently investigating an alleged sexual assault and there could be more victims, according to a WPD media release. On May 12, 2023, a female victim informed authorities she contacted a private, unlicensed, alternative therapist to help her deal with a previous trauma. The victim said she was sexually assaulted during her session.

WPD has arrested 48-year-old Trinidad Ruiz who is charged with Sexual Assault on a Client by Psychotherapist – Penetration or Intrusion. WPD says it is possible there are other victims. It is urging anyone with information to contact WPD at 303-658-4360 (opt 2) and reference case number 2023-08678.
