The Seattle Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the Central District on Wednesday night. Just after 8 p.m., SPD officers were in the area of 24th Avenue South and South Main when they heard gunfire. Following the gunfire, dispatch received several 911 calls reporting the gunshots in the area.

A short time later, officers found a female victim lying unresponsive on the sidewalk. The victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Homicide Unit detectives and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded and are investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

At this time, authorities have not identified any suspects.
