The Waco Police Department has announced an arrest in the homicide of Gilberto Moralez. On February 23, 2023, WPD responded to the 200 block of Mary Avenue and found a male victim with a gunshot wound. Officers learned that an altercation began involving multiple individuals and one person was shot.

The victim was later identified as 41-year-old Gilberto Moralez. On March 13, 2024, the Waco Police Department announced that 25-year-old Bralon Buhl had been identified as the suspect in the shooting. Buhl was arrested by the USMS Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

Buhl is charged with one count of murder and three counts of aggravated assault. WPD says the suspect was identified based on video footage collected by the Special Crimes Unit.
