The Whittier Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that happened on Franklin Street. Just before 2 p.m. on March 12, 2024, WPD officers responded to the 13600 block of Franklin Street for a report of a shooting.

At the scene, responding officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the male victim deceased. Detectives are investigating the incident. At this time, there are no other details available.
