Buffalo Police arrests Terrance Johnson in connection to January 1 homicide

The Buffalo Police Department has announced an arrest in a homicide that happened in the early hours of January 1, 2024 at Main and Merrimac Streets. Around 3:30 a.m., Northeast district officers responded to a shooting call at the aforementioned location.

At the scene, responding officers found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Homicide detectives began an investigation and a suspect was identified.

21-year-old Terrance Johnson of Buffalo has been charged with Murder in the Second Degree. BPD has identified the victim as 18-year-old Rashaad Brown.
