The Columbus Police Department has announced that the parents of two-month-old twins had been arrested for child abuse. Around 1 p.m. on February 25, 2024, CPD officers responded to the 3300 block of Hal’s Way in reference to child abuse. At the scene, responding officers determined that a 2-month-old male had been transported to Martin Army Community Hospital by his parents after he became unresponsive.
Two other children in the home were evaluated by EMS before being transported to Piedmont Medical Center. A 2-year-old male was discharged. 2-month-old twins were later admitted to a children’s hospital nearby. CPD says warrants were issued for each parent due to the severity of the injuries received by both twins.
26-year-old Scott Sartin and 24-year-old Jada Sartin have been charged with two counts of Aggravated Battery Family Violence, 2 counts of Cruelty to Children Family Violence in the 1st Degree, and 2 counts of Cruelty to Children Family Violence in the 2nd Degree. They were arrested on March 7, 2024 without incident.
