The Birmingham Police Department has announced an arrest of a suspect in the Dawson Tarps workplace shooting. Around 8:50 a.m. on March 4, 2024, North Precinct officers responded to a Person Shot call at Dawson Tarps at 2617 24th Street North. At the scene, officers entered the warehouse and found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries. BPD says the victim remains hospitalized in stable condition. On March 6, 2024, Antoine Dailey turned himself in to police. On March 7, 2024, detectives with BPD presented case information to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.
Detectives obtained a warrant for Attempted Murder for Antoine Dailey who has a bond of $60,000. BPD says the motive appears to be an ongoing dispute over the victim owing Dailey money.
