Hattiesburg Police arrest two men in connection to separate animal cruelty incidents

The Hattiesburg Police Department has announced the arrests of two individuals in separate animal cruelty incidents. On March 7, 2024, two individuals were arrested. Both incidents occurred in the 20 block of Central School Road in Hattiesburg. When officers reached the scene, they found two dogs suffering from a broken leg and spine.

One dog had allegedly been thrown off a second-floor balcony. The other dog had been hit by a vehicle on March 4, 2024, and had not been treated for its injuries. HPD said officers learned that 38-year-old Orlanda Wiley was allegedly responsible for throwing the dog off the balcony.

31-year-old Cory Ramsey is accused of neglecting to seek medical attention for the dog that had been hit by a vehicle. Both men are charged with one count of Animals, Dog, or Cat: Aggravated Cruelty. They were booked into the Forrest County Jail.
