The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has provided an update in a fatal shooting on April 30, 2023. Around 12:33 a.m. on April 30, 2023, LVMPD Dispatch received reports of a shooting in the area of Evergreen Avenue and Upland Boulevard.

At the scene, responding officers found a man in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. On March 7, 2024, LVMPD announced that 57-year-old David Lynn Coulsen and 45-year-old Jimmy Johnson were indicted on open murder charges related to this investigation.

The men were previously taken into custody in California and are pending extradition to Las Vegas for an additional murder that occurred in the 1400 block of Helen Belle Drive on January 17, 2024.
