Update – Baton Rouge Police provided an update in a fatal shooting on Coursey Boulevard. Homicide Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of 54-year-old Thomas Sneed that occurred at 12757 Coursey Boulevard or the Sherwood Acres Apartments.

Around 8:57 p.m. on March 6, 2024, Communications received a call reporting multiple shots fired in the area. An East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputy was flagged down in the area about an unresponsive male between the buildings. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Original Story – The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting at the Sherwood Acres Apartments. According to BRPD, Homicide Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting of an adult male victim that occurred at 12757 Coursey Boulevard.

Around 8:57 p.m. on March 6, 2024, BRPD received a call reporting multiple shots fired at the aforementioned location. Around this time, an East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputy was flagged down by a relative of an unresponsive male between the buildings at the apartment complex.

The unidentified male victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. At this time, BRPD does not know the motive or shooting. No additional details are available.
