The Stockton Police Department has announced an arrest in a double shooting. Around 4:34 p.m. on September 25, 2023, officers responded to the area of North Center Street and Channel Street for a report of shots fired. At the scene, responding officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

A 15-year-old male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 16-year-old male was transported to a local hospital. On March 6, 2024, the Stockton Police Department announced it had arrested 18-year-old Anthony Pontod in connection to this homicide. Pontod was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for murder and attempted murder.
