The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 17-year-old Purnell Swett High School student. Around 10:58 p.m. on March 5, 2024, RCSO deputies responded to Downy Road in Rowland in reference to an individual shot.

At the scene, responding deputies located 17-year-old Kaden Strickland deceased. The Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Criminal Investigations Divisions are investigating the homicide. No additional details are available at this time.
