The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has announced an arrest in a homicide investigation in the Tryon Division. In the early hours of March 5, 2024, the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located and arrested 23-year-old Nickaleus Felder without incident.

Felder was transported to the Law Enforcement Center to speak to homicide detectives. Following the interview, Felder was taken into custody by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with murder and robbery. Felder is charged in the slaying of Jonathan Sheffield who was found with traumatic injuries in the 4900 block of Malibu Drive on March 21, 2023.
