The Virgin Islands Police Department has announced an arrest in a recent homicide. On March 5, 2024 around 7:40 a.m., the 911 Call Center received a call of an assault at a residence in Estate Lerkenlund.

Responding officers learned that 34-year-old Mohammed Salem had allegedly stabbed and killed his father, Hakem Salem, before fleeing the scene. A manhunt was launched for the suspect. Around 12:17 p.m., Salem was apprehended in the vicinity of Paradise Bay.
