The Oakland Police Department has announced an arrest of a juvenile in connection to the homicide of Maged Alazzani in the 2900 block of Linden Street on January 6, 2024. The juvenile was taken into custody on February 27, 2024.

The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against the juvenile for their involvement in the slaying. OPD officers opened an investigation into the homicide around 8:15 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Dispatch received a call reporting an individual who had just been shot.

Officers responded to the scene to investigate. At the scene, officers found evidence of a shooting and learned the victim had self-transported to an area hospital. The victim was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.
