The Santa Ana Police Department is currently investigating a shooting involving a toddler. Following an extensive investigation, SAPD Homicide Detectives say they identified the suspect as 20-year-old Angel Castillo who is a documented gang member.

On February 29, 2024, Castillo was taken into custody and booked on a charge of Attempted Murder. In conjunction with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Castillo was charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle, and Committing a Crime for the Benefit of a Criminal Street Gang.

Castillo was arraigned on March 4, 2024.
